Hi, I'm Janet, nice to meet You

I have always had a passion for working out.  It started with working out to Jane Fonda VHS tapes in the basement of my Detroit home. Then I moved on to group fitness class at various locations in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. In 2010, I began taking Zumba ™ classes and fell right into the craze and excitement Zumba ™ was stirring up. It was then I knew that I wanted to teach group fitness classes.

I have taught group training sessions and boot camp classes. In the Spring of 2014 I became a certified Personal Trainer. I enjoy helping my clients reach their fitness goals. I truly enjoy helping my clients by creating a fun atmosphere for them to learn. I chose to open The Body Artistry Fitness, LLC (est. 2011) in the heart of Detroit, because I felt that the inner city community needed fitness options in their own backyard, instead of going to the suburbs. In giving back to my grass roots I hope to leave a legacy of fitness and good health to my daughter and the community.

You don't need an hour -- or even half and hour -- a day to lose weight or get into great shape. A study by The American Journal of Sports Medicine found that 15 minutes of resistance training was just as effective at boosting participants' metabolism as 35 minutes. Another study found that women had a better chance of sticking to a plan if they only had to commit to 15-minute sessions. All it takes is 15 minutes four to six times a week. Choose a plan that has body-scuplting resistance training, cardio and weights.
As a personal trainer, I want to help women embrace their body image no matter their shape or size. One of my goals is to work with women to assist them in releasing any false beliefs or self-imposed limitations they have about their bodies by teaching them to love their bodies inside and out. By creating a positive workout environment and format, women will learn to love and forgive each part of their body and envision every part of themselves as healthy and strong and capable of working in harmony with each other.

The focus is on achieving strength and balance though learning proper form and correct movement, with optimal range of motion, muscle isolation and memory, effective stretching, proper pace and tempo, and focused breathing for a life changing body transformation. Sessions last 30 minutes. Recommend 2 sessions/wk for progression (client will feel/see tangible changes within 4-6 weeks).

One on One Training

Personal attention in a private setting! Get a program tailored specifically for you and your unique goals with one-on-one personal training! I will customize a plan tailored to your body, fitness level, and personal goals. Sessions last one hour. Recommend 2 sessions/wk for progression (client will feel/see tangible changes within 4-6 weeks).

Small Group Training

Two person budget friendly semi-private boutique sessions that focus on form, strength, kinesiology, muscle isolation, stretching, injury prevention, breathing, spotting, and cardio.  Sessions last 1 hour. Recommend 2 classes/wk for progression. Bring your friends and change your lives together.

Online Personal Training

Reach your health and fitness goals with all the convenience of training in your own home, gym, or other personal space. Each week you complete the week of workouts and track results in the App. Your trainer provides feedback and sets goals for you to reach. You can also upload videos, and progression photos and Skype with your trainer.
